Sales tax holiday for outdoor sports starts Friday

KPHO

JACKSON, Miss. — On Monday, Lt. Governor Tate Reeves announced Friday would be the start of the Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday in the state of Mississippi.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, consumers will be able to stock up on their favorite hunting gear, including guns,  gun safes, archery equipment and ammunition without having to pay the sales tax.

“Hunting is the favorite pastime of so many Mississippians and a major tourism draw for rural areas,” Lt. Gov. Reeves said. “The Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday is a way to make these sports a little less expensive and encourage more families to enjoy the outdoors.”
