Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, Buffalo Police Department Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia and other local officials appeared before the media Monday to provide an update on Saturday’s mass shooting at the Jefferson Avenue Tops supermarket.

The parents of Amir Locke and their attorneys said Friday that the 22-year-old Black man was “executed” by a Minneapolis SWAT team that woke him from a deep sleep, and that he reached in confusion for a legal firearm to protect himself.

Ten people were killed Saturday and three others were injured in an act of white supremacist terrorism. One was a retired police officer. One was a deacon. Another was the mother of a fire commissioner. All were taken too soon.
