The parents of young man killed in a crash involving a bus and a tractor trailer says a state law prevents companies from being held accountable for its role in a wrongful death.

We asked Arkansas State Policy on Tuesday if there are any updates as to how the driver lost control of the bus. But they said the case is still under investigation.

The victims in the crash went to multiple hospitals around the Mid-South. Love ended up at Baptist DeSoto. When she got out, her friends were waiting. 

Deidra Terrell said she also knew the mother of the little boy who was killed, 9-year-old Kameron Johnson.

The cause of the crash has not been determined.

School officials declined to name the student who was killed, but sources confirm he was Kameron Johnson, known by the nickname KamKam.

After we’ve reported, federal records show no crashes for Teague in the last two years. The company was cited for 15 violations in 2017 for things like a broken wheel. 

Students on the bus were not hurt, but two people in the SUV were airlifted to Regional One in Memphis.
