The trial for the man accused of killing a Memphis police officer is set to begin on Wednesday.

A Tennessee man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison on charges connected to the fatal shooting of a police officer in 2015.

Wilbourn is already serving 25 years for a carjacking and other gun-related crimes related to the night Bolton was killed.

Tremaine Wilbourn, who was charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting the officer in August 2015, appeared in court Wednesday.

Tremaine Wilbourn is charged with shooting Officer Sean Bolton several times in August 2015 while Bolton was attempting to detain him. Wilbourn still faces first-degree-murder and other charges in state court.

The trial against the man accused of shooting and killing Memphis Police Officer Martoiya Lang got underway on Tuesday. Treveno Campbell has been charged with first-degree murder and could face life in prison if convicted by a Shelby County jury.
