Shelby County Schools is hosting a supply drive as it prepares for its second week of in-person classes.

The deadline to sign off on the upcoming fiscal year’s county budget is quickly approaching for Shelby County commissioners and Monday’s meeting will be important as they face a new, even higher budget proposal from the Shelby County School Board of Education.

First 8 Memphis is working hard to prepare children for kindergarten and wants parents to know they are working with both Shelby County Schools and its former partner Porter Leath to make sure kids succeed.

SCS wants to help parents and guardians get ready for the return of classes with a recharge of sorts. Dr. Lori Phillips with SCS explains how it all works and how you can get involved.
