A local judge heard testimony from both sides on Monday after attorneys for the man accused of killing Jessica Chambers accused the District Attorney John Champion of seeking false testimony from an inmate.

The defense attorney for a man charged with killing a Mississippi woman by setting her on fire says a district attorney sought false testimony from an unrelated defendant in exchange for leniency.

The retrial was initially scheduled for June 11. 

A new trial date has been set for the man accused of murdering Jessica Chambers back in 2014.

Prosecutors said Tellis doused the women in gasoline then set her on fire and left her to die on a country road near Courtland.

The trial of Quinton Tellis, who has pleaded not guilty to murder in the burning death of 19-year-old Jessica Chambers in Panola County, Mississippi, continues today beginning at 1 p.m.
