The man accused of helping Sherra Wright kill her husband, basketball stand-out Lorenzen Wright, will go on trial Monday, but not on murder charges.

Sherra Wright’s bond hearing is set for Wednesday.

The state will not be seeking the death penalty in the Lorenzen Wright murder case, prosecutors announced during a pre-trial hearing on Monday.

Sherra Wright racked up more than 50 disciplinary incidents while she was incarcerated in Shelby County jail facilities from March 2018 until July 2019, according to records obtained by WREG.

In a significant development in court, the attorneys for Sherra Wright told the judge they are no longer able to represent her.

Attorneys for the woman accused of murdering her ex-husband several years ago will appear in court to try to convince a judge to let her out of jail.

Both suspects will be tried together.
