MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Another Hardaway will be on the Memphis Tigers bench come the start of the 2025-2026 men’s basketball season.
It was announced on Saturday that forward Ashton Hardaway, the youngest son of Tigers’ basketball legend and head coach Penny Hardaway, will be returning to the team after a season away.
In an Instagram post, Hardaway posted a photo of his name on a Tigers’ jersey with the words “Unfinished Business” beside it.
Ashton Hardaway began his college career at the University of Memphis in 2023.
As a freshman, he started three games, averaged 2.3 points per game and shot 33.3% from the three-point line.
He decided to transfer to St. Mary’s for his sophomore year.
In 33 appearances, Hardaway averaged 2.1 points per game, shot 35.3% from the field and shot 91.7% from the free throw line.
