(Charlottesville, VA) The former University of Virginia lacrosse player convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend has been sentenced to 23 years in prison.
George Huguely was found guilty of beating 22-year-old Yeardley Love to death in 2010.
The jury had recommended Huguely serve 26 years.
A judge cut that sentence by three years.
Part of his sentence includes a year for grand larceny, after Huguely stole the victim’s computer.
