MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Saturday was the deadline for the Grizzlies to pick up Luke Kennard’s $14.8M team option, now Memphis risks losing one of the purest shooters in the league after declining.

Last season, Kennard made 48% of his three-pointers in 63 games for Memphis. Though Memphis didn’t pick up his team option ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that both sides are ‘eager to pursue a restructured deal’.

When asked about the conversations behind had with Kennard on NBA draft night, Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman had this to say.

” We still feel very, very strongly about Luke as someone who’s a right fit as part of this group, nothing else I could really say on the matter at the time.”

For his career, Kennard has shot 44% from behind the arc.
