MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Instead of the lights at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, the Memphis Tigers were under the Christmas lights at the Memphis Zoo.
The Tigers are just days away from the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl bowl where they’ll face West Virginia and send off one of the most accomplished senior classes in program history.
” I know it’s my last time putting on the Tiger uniform so it’s sad, to be honest, but I’ve been fortunate to have had a great career and great coaches and teammates. I’ve done my work and my work. There’s only one more thing to be done, and that’s one win one more game,” said quarterback Seth Henigan.
When Seth Henigan and Roc Taylor showed up at the University of Memphis as freshmen in 2021, they were boys. Fast forward four years and they’ve stayed with the same Tiger program a rarity in this day in age in college football. The two leave as men and have no regrets about their time spent in the 901.
” This is like my second home, when I go home I don’t even call it home. I call this home because that’s just how much I love Memphis. I fell in love with the BBQ here too so yeah I had to slow down on that but yeah this city means a lot to me,” said Taylor.
” It felt like it happened so fast I say it over and over again it’s already, it’s already over. Like I feel like I was just a true freshman yesterday and I was asking Brady White for advice and now I’m Brady White,” said Henigan.
Tuesday’s game in Frisco, Texas will be full circle for Seth Henigan as he’ll play his final collegiate game just 25 miles from his hometown of Denton.
“I was fortunate to have it 30 minutes away from my house and and my people able to come.”
