MEMPHIS — Grizzlies franchise guard Ja Morant will be a gametime decision Friday night, for the Grizzlies biggest game of the season when they put their season on the line in a do or die game against the Dallas Mavericks out at FedExForum.
Morant did not practice Thursday after turning his ankle in Tuesday night’s play in loss to the Warriors.
Morant listed as questionable as the Grizzlies try to lock down earn the eight seed in the Western Conference playoffs and, with it, a first-round match-up with Oklahoma City. But right now, interim coach Tuomas Iisalo has no definitive answer on his team’s best player.
“If he feels he’s good to go, I and we have full trust in him. He’s also a very good judge of how, like if he’s ready to go or not. But I’m leaning on the experts in this situation, which clearly I am not in the medical department,” Iisalo said. “I feel, with him, he will do absolutely everything in order to play. If he’s physically able to do it, he will do it. But it’s a legitimate game time decision. We won’t know.”
Until right before tip time, 8:30 Friday night.
