BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol is gearing up for an influx of race fans for the first time at its new permanent location.
Bristol Motor Speedway is welcoming race fans and drivers for a full lineup of races at the Last Great Coliseum, and the casino is getting in the spirit of things.
Hard Rock Bristol Director of Entertainment Darin Cralle told News Channel 11 that while the casino cannot predict an exact turnout of fans who like to gamble, the facility has planned live entertainment and new experiences.
“Whether it’s a concert, a big sporting event like this, or just anything that brings people into the region, we don’t want to just benefit off the traffic,” Cralle said. “We want to contribute to the overall momentum and be able to make things happen and experiences happen for everybody.”
NASCAR Cup Series driver Joey Logano will be at the casino Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. for a meet-and-greet event in the marketplace area. The casino will also offer a special breakfast for race fans at that time.
“We’ve got live entertainment, of course, across all of our stages before the race and after the race, so it’s a great chance to come and see regional and local talent performing on our stages,” Cralle said.
Cralle hopes visiting the casino can become part of several fans’ traditions while traveling to Bristol.
“The race is an iconic part of Bristol’s history, right? We hope to be able to build upon that legacy of Bristol and just kind of keep that momentum going,” Cralle said.
