Pippen’s triple-double, 28-points by Wells’ punches Grizz ticket to Summer League Championship game

LAS VEGAS — The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 99-98 to improve to 5-0 in the NBA Summer League and secure their spot in the championship game.

Leading Memphis in scoring was rookie, Jaylen Wells with a summer league high of 28 points with six made three-pointers on 9 of 12 shooting from the floor.


Along with Wells, guard Scotty Pippen Jr. made all the right plays to keep the Grizzlies ahead down the stretch. Pippen scored 23 points, with 10 rebounds, and 10 assists to secure only the sixth-ever triple-double in Summer League history.

GG Jackson alls added 20 points with four assists and four rebounds.

The Grizzlies will go for the franchise’s second-ever Summer League title since 2019 against the Miami Heat on Monday at 7p.m.
