The LPGA's major championship season kicked off this week in Houston for the annual Chevron Championship. It's offering a $9 million purse, with $1.2 million to the winner.
Mao Saigo is taking home that check, winning a major for her first LPGA title after a wild five-way playoff.
She won with a birdie on the first playoff hole as the other four players, including American Lindy Duncan, all fell to the wayside at the closing par-5. The playoff was the largest in LPGA major history.
