MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis football team cracked the College Football Playoff Top 25 on Tuesday evening, marking the first time in the CFP Rankings since 2019, checking in at No. 25.
After knocking off No. 17 Tulane on the road to cap the regular season and secure the first back-to-back 10-win seasons in program history, the Tigers entered the AP Poll for the first time since the 2020 season on Sunday afternoon at No. 25. Memphis was also slotted at No. 24 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
The Tigers defeated the Green Wave, 34-24, on Thanksgiving Day to snap Tulane’s 17-game AAC regular season winning streak for the Green Wave – the longest streak in league history and longest active streak in FBS.
Memphis awaits to learn its postseason destination as it prepares for the program’s 11th-consecutive bowl game. With a victory in their bowl game, the Tigers could earn 11 wins for just the second time in program history (2019; 12 wins).
