MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Monday’s snowfall prompted a wave of closures across the area, including the Regional One Health, Shelby County Health Department, MATA and several school districts.
On Tuesday, Regional One Health announced all primary care and outpatient clinics will be closed until further notice.
The city of Memphis said only essential personnel would be working. Memphis Parks, Memphis Animal Shelter, Libraries, Community Centers (excluding warming centers), Code Enforcement, Permits Office, City Treasury, 311 and 211 will be closed.
Solid waste services will also be suspended for Tuesday.
The Shelby County Health Department announced its facilities as well as the Covid-19 vaccinations sites would be closed on Tuesday. All appointments that were sheduled for Tuesday will be rescheduled for a future date.
On Tuesday, MATA initially announced all buses would be running as scheduled. By 8 a.m., they announced all buses would be stopped at 10 a.m. due to the road conditions. They are still providing transportation to the warming centers and for dialysis patients.

In addition to businesses closing, MATA said it is suspended its services due to the hazardous road conditions. In a statement MATA said the following:
Due to the continuing worsening inclement weather conditions, service on all MATA vehicles on ALL MODES (bus, trolley and MATAplus) will stop at 8 p.m. TONIGHT. Service on all modes — with the exception of the Main Street Trolley rail line and Route 6 Northaven — is expected to resume tomorrow. However, service delays are expected to continue due to the inclement weather.
