Crittenden County declares State of Emergency

Crittenden County residents pile up sandbags ahead of expected flooding.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Crittenden County, Arkansas declared a State of Emergency on Wednesday afternoon, as strong storms began moving through the area.

County Judge Woody Wheeless, who signed the proclamation, said it would allow the county to get immediate assistance from the state in the event they had significant weather-related issues.

“We are preparing for the worst and praying for the best for our citizens,” Wheeless wrote on his Facebook page. “I ask that you please stay home in the event areas are affected by this weather.”
