The tornado that struck Selmer, Tennessee had a peak wind speed of 160 mph, NWS said.

The town of Selmer sustained extensive damage from the tornado and storm. One person in surrounding McNairy County was confirmed dead, authorities said, and the death toll could rise.

The Arkansas tornado injured an estimated 15 people, though no fatalities were reported, the Craighead County sheriff said Wednesday night.
