UPDATE: The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch just before midnight Thursday night for many counties in the News Channel 3 viewing area, including Shelby, DeSoto and Crittenden counties, until 8 a.m. Friday.
Some parts of Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee are under a tornado warning until 1 p.m.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Another round of rain and potentially severe weather is set to move through our area Friday morning.
The most active part of the storm should cross the Mississippi River around 3 a.m., according to the most recent forecast.
The rain should start clearing around noon Friday and should be gone by 5 p.m. Much of the area is under a Flood Watch and Wind Advisory.
McNairy, Fayette, Haywood and Hardeman County Schools announced they would be closed Friday because of the inclement weather.
According to the National Weather Service of Memphis, tonight’s round of severe weather could pack a punch with all hazards possible. This includes damaging winds, tornadoes, hail, and a significant flash flooding potential.
