MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s finally Friday, which means it’s time to look at several events happening across the greater Memphis area this weekend.
There is something for everyone. Let’s get started with the Indie Memphis Film Festival.
All this weekend you can catch hundreds of films across a variety of genres at Studio on the Square and Crosstown Theater. Single tickets are $15 and the first showing is at 4 p.m. today.
Also today, you can enjoy music and free beer at “Bring Your Soul” at Crosstown Brewing Company. The fun starts at 5 p.m. and admission is free.
Saturday is the Teen Arts Fest where teenagers across the city showcase their artwork and designs.
This is hosted by the Memphis Public Libraries and is meant to inspire teens to tap into their creative pursuits. The free event will be held at the Ben Hooks Library along Poplar from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Saturday you can also celebrate the holidays at the Chickasaw Holiday Market.
Kids can take pictures with Santa, drink hot cocoa, and shop from local artists. The event is free to attend and runs from 5 to 8 p.m.
After that, you and the family can head to the Malco Summer Drive-In for a “two-course cinema feast of movie madness.” The movie screening will feature horror movies “The Silence of the Lambs” and “Hannibal.”
The event costs $25 per car and gates open at 6 p.m.
For Sunday Funday you can indulge in a floral arrangement class. This is hosted by the Brooks Museum from 2 to 4 p.m. and tickets are $60.
