MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s finally Friday, which means it’s time to look at several events happening across the greater Memphis area this weekend. There is something for everyone.
Let’s get started with the plant sale at Dixon Garden! Today and tomorrow you can buy rare and unusual plants at Dixon Garden. Today’s sale is open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Saturday, the Memphis Fire Foundation is hosting a Boil and Rescue. They are hoping to raise money for first-response bicycles. This event is at the Flying Saucer on Peabody Place. There will be arm wrestling competitions, a corn hole tournament, live music, and of course, crawfish.
Also on Saturday, from noon until 6 p.m., it is the Cooper-Young Porchfest. During this time, you can walk around the neighborhood while enjoying an eclectic mix of bands playing on residents’ front porches.
On Saturday morning there will also be a community yard sale.
Tomorrow you have several chances to take your kids to an easter egg hunt. Eggstravaganza at Bobby Lanier Farm Park in Germantown kicks off at 9 a.m. Pre-registration is required.
Then, at 9:30 a.m., there is the Egg Hunt at WJ Freeman Park in Bartlett. At 10 a.m., the kiddos can hunt eggs at Ben’s Park in Harbor Town.
On Saturday at 2 p.m., it is Shop Black Fest Memphis. This is downtown at Bass Pro Drive and Riverside Drive. Enjoy local artisans, fashion, beauty, wellness, and more. The free event will run until 7 p.m.
Finally, on Sunday it is Huey’s 55th Anniversary Block Party. Entry is free. There will be a huge block party at the Midtown location on Madison Avenue. There will be a fun zone for the kids, community vendors, and more!
