MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Some parents are outraged after a campus lockdown at Central High School in Midtown Monday morning left them out in the cold.

They say there was a lack of communication from the school district as students waited outside.

According to Memphis Police, the school was placed on lockdown. At least six police cars could be seen outside the school. MSCS has not yet said what happened.

Parents had to decide if they were going to leave their children outside the school or be late for work.

The high school usually starts at 7:15 and students can be dropped off at 6:45.

But when we spoke with parents a little before eight Monday morning, they say they had received no notification by email or phone, and they didn’t know what to do.

Less than two months ago, a student at Central High School was sent to the hospital in critical condition after being shot in the football field parking lot after school.
