Man, 6-year-old injured in Frayser shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is fighting for his life and a child is injured after a shooting in Frayser, Memphis Police confirm.

At 4:06 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 2800 block of Shady Vista Drive in the Ridgecrest Apartments.


A 23-year-old man was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition, and a 6-year-old was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in non-critical condition.

Police said the child was hit when a bullet came flying into the apartment he was in. The suspect was a man wearing all black.

Police do not believe this shooting is related to the shooting Friday night at the Ridgecrest apartments.

On March 8, a 5-year-old was also shot in the foot outside the Ridgecrest Apartments.
